Near/Far
Ayelet Bechar
Near/Far focuses on the internal immigration of the Y and Z generation of Palestinian citizens of Israel. Seven charismatic and opinionated young people debate about where to live: should they stay where they grew up; move to a city with a Jewish majority; or return to their parent’s home, years after they had left to study and work? They are on a constant quest for personal expression and freedom in a tightly-knit and traditional society, while navigating pressing social and political challenges.
