Kaveret – I gave her my life
Jonathan Avrahami, Avida Livny
The TV series tells the story of the biggest pop band in Israeli music history through the eyes of veteran music researcher Yoav Kutner. It follows Kutner’s personal story that has never been told before—how he lost his memory at age 18, his rehabilitation process which involved constantly listening to music, and how attending a Kaveret concert, his first show after losing his memory, forever changed the course of his life.
In the series, Kutner unravels the secret of Kaveret. Now that all the “children” are in their 70s, the band look back openly and honestly, revealing themselves in ways they never have before. Through previously unseen personal materials, we understand how deeply Kaveret is part of the Israeli bloodstream. We will learn the band’s story from its beginning in 1973 until its breakup in 1976, through its various reunions, and understand how it became, over the years, a canon of popular music in Israel.
