Tuvianski

Riki Shelach

A true story: June 1948. Six weeks after The Israeli Declaration of Independence. Only 3 hours and 45 minutes passed from the moment Captain Tuviansky was arrested until his body was dumped in a pit. Tuviansky was accused of treason.  He was arrested, interrogated, tried, sentenced and executed within those 3 hours and 45 minutes during which the arresting party managed to stop for lunch in Rechovot and organize the firing squad in Ramlee. A year later Tuviansky was exonerated. Only one of his executioners was tried and punished, lightly.
